Statement

​My work uses the female body as a visual language to explore identity, vulnerability, strength, and the expectations placed on women. I am interested in how the body becomes a site where cultural ideals, personal experiences, and social expectations intersect.

I explore pose and body language as forms of communication, using gesture and posture to express emotions, relationships, and states of mind. Drawing from my Venezuelan background and personal experiences, I examine how women’s bodies are represented, idealized, and shaped by beauty standards, cultural traditions, and social expectations.

My process combines traditional printmaking with contemporary technology. I create woodblocks using digital imagery, laser cutting, and digital manipulation, then return to the physical processes of inking and printing on a traditional press. This hybrid approach balances technology and craftsmanship, precision and spontaneity.

Through printmaking, I invite viewers to reconsider how women’s bodies communicate, are perceived, and are represented.
