Biography

​Linda Behar is a Venezuelan-born artist who lives and works between Florida and Rhode Island. She received an MFA in Printmaking from Florida Atlantic University in 2014. Her multidisciplinary practice combines traditional printmaking, particularly woodblock printing, with contemporary technologies including laser cutting, digital imaging, and 3D processes.

Behar uses the female body as a visual language to explore identity, body language, beauty standards, cultural heritage, and the social expectations that shape how women see themselves and are seen by others. Drawing from her Venezuelan background and personal experiences, she examines the tension between standardized ideals of femininity and the complexity of individual identity.

Her practice often incorporates collaboration and participatory processes, inviting others to become part of the work. Recent projects include Close At Home in My Body, Witches’ Recipes, Infiniti Bonds: The Woman and the Vase, and Behind the Mask: Las Luchadoras. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including She Speaks: Body Language at Lincoln Levy Gallery in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and I AM WOMAN at Washington Printmakers Gallery in Washington, D.C.
