The Peace Cylinder

The Peace Cylinder is a collaborative project that brings together two important stories: the Cyrus Cylinder, an ancient declaration promoting religious tolerance, and the Book of Esther, the story of a Jewish queen who intervened to save her people from persecution.  Artists Linda Behar, of Jewish heritage, and Raheleh T. Filsoofi, of Iranian heritage, use these stories to explore shared values and promote peace, tolerance, and acceptance. The project seeks to bring diverse communities together through conversation and a recognition of what we hold in common.
